Techfest Connects the Northern Coastal Region

This event is part of the series of startup support activities in 2024, organized by the Center for Science, Technology Development and Innovation (ISC); it also aims to carry out the task of "Supporting local capacity building in developing the innovative startup ecosystem", under the Project on Supporting the National Innovative Startup Ecosystem to 2025 of the Ministry of Science and Technology. Accordingly, International Techfest Connect 5+ was organized with the goal of promoting an open innovation ecosystem to increase business efficiency by leveraging external resources to help innovate, update, and coordinate on technology, reduce research costs, solve business problems, and restructure their enterprises in the Northern Coastal Region. Through the event, exhibition, demonstration, and connection activities showcased products and technology solutions of innovative startups that fit the management and production activities of large enterprises; connecting investment, business links, and development cooperation for startups, while enabling startup support organizations to share experience in market development and open innovation activities. According to statistics from the Department for Market and Science-Technology Enterprise Development, Vietnam currently has about 3,800 startups, of which 11 are valued at over USD 100 million and 3 at over USD 1 billion. There are currently 208 venture capital funds operating and investing in startups in Vietnam, including nearly 40 domestic funds. [2]

Joining TECHFEST Hai Phong, TrueOrigin Origin Authentication with dynamic digital signature technology is a Vietnamese intellectual asset and Vietnamese technology fully capable of competing with modern technologies in the industry globally.

Visitors to the TrueOrigin booth could try sample labels firsthand: NFC chip labels protected with dynamic digital signatures. The label issuing machine was also on display so visitors could experience it directly and understand the label issuance process.

Alongside TrueOrigin Origin Authentication, other special technology solutions and products from Onyx were also displayed and available for hands-on experience at the booth, such as: iControl access control, CyLock hack-proof locks, and the SmartQMAN smart queueing system.

The mayor of Cheongju visited the booth. Accompanying the mayor this time was a large contingent of Korean businesses seeking to tap into the Vietnamese market; this year's exchange activities to find agents for Korean businesses were a highlight of Techfest.
